The Saudi Ladies International Pro-Am

The Champions of Golf was founded in 2003 to celebrate and encourage young, female golfers in Saudi Arabia. Players are divided by category, from beginner to professionals, and each one plays for themselves, their family, and their loved ones.

It’s hugely exciting to see women, of all ages, from different walks of life, playing together on an international tournament schedule. My own family have been coming to the Champions of Golf for more than 20 years. It’s not every day we get to sit down and talk about golf with those who have been playing for several decades.

The unique and inspiring nature of the Champions of Golf should encourage us all to play more. As the first Ladies Professional Golf Association-sanctioned event in Saudi Arabia, The Saudi Ladies International Pro-Am will mark another milestone in the country’s progression. We know that golf tourism in Saudi Arabia could become a massive contributor to the Kingdom’s economic growth.

A table trophy is on the line – and being the last women’s final of the IT&G Ladies New York Amateur – Emily Pedersen and her partner Catriona Matthew have the chance to win their first career major in front of a packed New York crowd!
