Largest cross-platform effort in CNN Worldwide’s history celebrates contributions of ordinary people making the world a better place

SAN ANTONIO, TX – CNN Worldwide celebrates the achievements of 10 people whose hard work and dedication can make a difference in the world. Heroes from across CNN’s multi-platform portfolio are being recognized today in this three-hour CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute special broadcast live from The Newseum in Washington, D.C. to stations and platforms around the world, as well as via social media. The special will be followed by a pop-up CNN HUGS AT HOME event in New York City, hosted by Alisyn Camerota.

In addition to the special broadcast, CNN Worldwide plans a day of celebrating the honorees and saluting their contributions. CNN Heroes honorees will be spotlighted on Friday, February 23, with pop-up CNN Heroes: A Moment of Truth screenings in New York City and Atlanta, as well as on Saturday, February 24. Honorees are selected for their passion and commitment to social causes including:

Jeronimo Yanez – A Mexican-American undocumented immigrant from Phoenix, Arizona, who created an organization called Neosixty to address extreme poverty and human trafficking.

CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute will premiere Sunday, February 25 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) on CNN/U.S. at The Newseum in Washington, D.C. and global CNNNewsource affiliates.

Also a part of the program, people will share personal stories of their tenacity, dedication, humanity and kindness via social media using the hashtag #CNNHeroes.
