CNN en Español presents “They’re Coming For You”

CNN en Español is proudly proud to present an extraordinary two-hour report “They’re Coming For You”. Produced by Emilio Alarcon and Hilmar Escobar, CNN en Español’s Carla Andreu leads an investigative team around the world where private security contractors drive convoys of armored cars and cruise through the streets of major cities, sending innocent civilians running for their lives.

Part of CNN en Español’s ongoing coverage of the war against terrorism and organized crime, CNN en Español will air three times during the evening from 10:00pm to 11:00pm, followed by repeats.

The team of investigative journalists took to the streets to gain unprecedented access to and explore the reality of the presence of armed security firms in major cities. Armed with live testimony and undercover videos, Carla Andreu, Celia Lopez and Carlos Avendaño followed around private security units on patrol in two cities in Mexico – Mexico City and Monterrey. Their stories uncover the startling reality of modern war: private security contractors are a ubiquitous part of the landscape of global cities, terrorizing the civilian population and the environment, often showing a lack of professionalism and lack of respect for human life.

CNN en Español is consistently growing and expanding its programming. Last year, the broadcast reached a combined audience of 11.4 million viewers, a 30% increase over 2017.
